Does God Laugh?

Beautiful presented and thoughtfully-curated course material. I loved the format of daily audio hadiths, journal prompts and weekly Zoom sessions. It fully engaged my mind, heart and soul. I feel sad it’s over now as this course had become an inspiring part of my daily routine!

This class was life-changing for me in many different ways. I’m grateful for all the gifts. Sometimes you aren’t looking for something, and it finds you anyway. A little shared nugget from a classmate, something written in one of the reflections, or a wisdom imparted by Sidi —it’s all the same and impactful. This method of studying a hadith a day, along with conversations and writings, was beneficial on many different levels.
This class calmed my heart and brought me peace.
The sunnah is medicine. And now I'm putting the medicine to use. We have returned to our lives, but it is in the lessons today that I still hold onto. If something is as good as this class was, it leaves a mark and stays with you, as it has with me.

Since I reverted a bit over a year ago I’ve been feeling that there’s something I’m missing out in Islam. I felt like other Muslims knew something very profound that I didn’t. I felt so frustrated and sad. I couldn’t feel the Islam in my heart.
I prayed for the meaning of my life and for understanding Islam by heart.
This course came as an immediate answer.
These beautiful meditations which enable me to imagine and really feel the hadiths like I was there, have changed my heart radically. I cry every time I listen to them. Especially the dua of Ta’if. It changed my understanding of Islam and I started to understand how compassionate and perfect our beloved Prophet ﷺ is. The dua of Ta’if is so raw and powerful, the art of complete surrender He ﷺ models, perfect Islam for us to imitate.
These 12 days of the course have answered all of my questions about Islam and even them I didn’t know I had.

This course deepened my love and respect for the Prophet ﷺ, and through him, my relationship with Allah became more intimate and alive. I now see the Prophet ﷺ as the trusted physician bringing Allah’s prescriptions, and the Qur’an and Sunnah as the medicine that heals the soul. Following them with sincerity brings wholeness, while neglecting them leaves the heart unwell.
Through this lens, my dīn no longer feels like a checklist but a journey of healing and love—where every step toward the Prophet ﷺ is truly a step closer to Allah.

Each daily meditation is an immersive drink from the ocean of the pure speech of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The prophet's beautiful healing smile resonates through each saying and each story told and brings us closer into intimate discovery of the Divine, the divine messenger, and the divine message that is the ultimate elixir of hearts.
Uniquely delivered by our beloved Baraka Blue, each hadith springs from the gardens of poetic praise, inviting us to be quenched and drenched in transcendance and presence, healing all that it reaches in the depths of our hearts, and entering us into the meaning of sacred joy

Salam. I have been joining most of the courses given by Rumi Center, and it has been a blessing and a privilege. Second, this course in specific has been special since I feel that I am not putting a lot of effort, but then what I am writing seems to flow naturally. In addition, although I am not consistent when I listen to the daily meditations, they are moving me and I can't end my day without listening to them. Of course, I will be listening to the meditations again after the course ends, and when my days are more structured InShaAllah. Lastly, I wanted some grounding practice to help me connect to the Prophet PBUH during this month, and I wasn't finding anything, and then this new course was offered, and it came to me as a gift from Him PBUH.
